Criteria to evaluate popular, scholarly, and trade periodicals . . .
Sometimes you can determine the content of a periodical just by looking at the cover. However, there are times when it can be very difficult to determine whether a periodical article is from a scholarly, popular, or trade periodical. In an effort to make this process a little easier, Jill Shoemaker created a spreadsheet that gives some tips on what to look for and some examples of each type.
